Our People

I am Italian, 53 years old. I have lived in Austin for the past 30 years, went to college in Brussels, Belgium, where I earned a Physics degree with highest honors. I came to Austin shortly thereafter to do thermodynamics and laser spectroscopy research at UT, but eventually decided to get into business. The relevant business expertise I bring to Castle Hill is niche marketing, business systems, green technologies, people's leadership and management. When it comes to cycling, riding my bike for a LONG TIME is my favorite fitness activity, yes -paradoxically - AWAY from the gym! I ride my best the longer the distance, which makes me truly appreciate a finely tuned bike position, ergonomic bars, saddles, and related accessories. I have ridden my fixed gear bike from Austin to Lake Tahoe in 20 days unsupported a few years back, but also up and down the East and West Coast. In 2007 I rode across America on an extended 4,500 miles route on my magnesium Dogma, equipped with panniers, in record high temperatures. Seems silly? How about an informal Giro d'Italia in 2008, also unsupported, but on my Carbon Prince with panniers this time? The secret: use small panniers! My longest one day ride: 241 miles on fixed gear in Texas 2009 August weather. |
